Mr. Hemmingson is one of the successors of a local law firm dating back to 1907 when Angus MacDonald opened the first law office in Lacombe. When MacDonald was appointed a District Court Judge, his practice passed to J.S. McCormick. His son, Donald McCormick, also practiced with the firm and later went on to be appointed a Judge. Andy Advani, Q.C. and Alex Rose both spent their junior years working under Don McCormick. One of Lacombe's largest schools is named after J.S. McCormick in recognition of his long and tireless efforts as a School Board Trustee. Rick purchased Mr. Advani's practice over 20 years ago and has practiced full-time in Lacombe since then.
